The three (3) most important requirements of a torque wrench are accuracy, reliability and durability. Having had a fair share of cheap click wrenches in the past, simplcity was clear but without periodic calibration, none of the other requirements were met. In the end, I came back to the beginning and found a set of Sturvent torque wrenches (two from the 1940's and one from 1970's) that satisfied my needs. The beam wrench allowed me to watch the increase in torqu get a better sense of how I was tightening a bolt. Ironically enough, all three total cost less than half of a decent, new clicker and address a range of 10 in/lbs to 50 ft/lbs or torque.
